Accessible Portable Toilet – Dubai Metro Blue Line

This project involved the design and fabrication of a handicapped/disabled-accessible portable toilet cabin for the Dubai Metro Blue Line project. The facility is designed to provide a safe, comfortable, and accessible sanitation solution, incorporating dedicated accessibility features along with durable construction and essential plumbing and electrical systems.

Cabin Specifications

• Size: 2.0 Mtr L x 2.0 Mtr W
• Frame: Steel Base Chassis
• Walls, Roof & Door: 50mm polyurethane insulated GI sandwich panels
• Colour: RAL 9002
• Flooring: 18mm cement board finished with tiles and provided with a drain hole

Water & Waste Management

• Fresh Water Tank: 200 US Gallon PVC tank
• Waste Tank: 400 US Gallon built-in steel tank positioned at the bottom of the cabin
• Sewage Outlet: 4-inch outlet provision for sewage removal
• Gate Valve: Provided for direct external connection

Sanitary Fixtures & Accessibility Features

The cabin is equipped with:

• 1 x European-style WC with flush tank and seat cover
• 1 x Shattaf
• 1 x Washbasin with water tap
• 1 x Accessibility handle bar
• 1 x Grab bar

The dedicated grab and handle bars provide additional support and improve accessibility and user safety.

Plumbing & Ventilation

• PPR water piping for cold and hot water supply
• Exhaust fan with powder-coated aluminium frame
• Air vent pipe
• Dedicated sewage outlet provision

Electrical & Lighting

The cabin includes:

• LED lighting
• Waterproof switches
• Waterproof power socket

Mobility & Handling

Lifting hooks are provided as an option to facilitate easy loading, unloading, relocation, and transportation of the portable toilet cabin.
